Managed services for Jaguar Landrover Powertrain Division
As one of the world’s most prestigious and well-known brands, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) depends on engineering excellence to maintain its reputation for quality, innovation and reliability.
JLR historically obtained its engines from Ford, but with the development of several new models and coming out of the Ford group, it decided to invest in engineering and producing its own engines at a new purpose-built facility.
But there was one huge challenge
They had engineering skills shortage in this highly specialised area of engine design and analysis. If the investment JLR had made in their new engine plant was to pay off, they needed skilled powertrain engineers ready to face this challenge.
Initially, their search was unsuccessful with in the powertrain program timeframe. Specialised and experienced engineers in this area are hard to come by in the UK, and JLR needed engineers who could innovate and take them into the next generation of automotive engine technology. That’s when Affluent offered their support.
We identified and deputed highly skilled powertrain engineers
Thanks to through understanding and application of engineering principles to the automotive world, Affluent technology is well positioned to identify and depute highly skilled engineers for various clients in product design and development domains.
Affluent has offered the managed services to JLR powertrain in which Affluent will collaborate with JLR to understand its design and development of next generation automotive engines program to identify the skills and expertise to meet the program goals.
The significant advantage of this service is that Affluent has recruited, employed and deputed competent engineers with international experience (Germany, Japan, US, India) from global OEMs for JLR powertrain programs.
Affluent has been successfully supporting the JLR programs since 2012
These have been in some of the most advanced technological programs and helping to improve the fuel economy, CO2 emissions, durability, NVH of Jaguar Landrover powertrain including hybrid cars.
What started as a testing ground for JLR in powertrain base engine design, has gradually expanded to Powertrain CAE, Powertrain PiVA and Hybrid engines.
Based on the successful engagement with Affluent and it’s benefits, it is easy to see why JLR wants to expand the same proven strategy to other divisions.
